We’re on this journey together.

Introducing…

Journey Together

Join a small group of women on an eight week journey where we work together to grow from a place of negativity and shame around food towards self-compassion, food freedom and confidence.

Led by Taylor Vashro (Registered Dietitian with Master’s degrees in Nutrition and Psychology) Journey Together provides an intensive dive into the fundamentals and practices of intuitive eating. It combines weekly group sessions with individual work and reflection to help you in your journey towards food freedom with the support and encouragement of others going through the same process.

This 8 week Journey Together includes…

2 Individual Sessions

Two - 1 hour individual hour sessions with Taylor to help fine tune and individualize the concepts and tools provided in group sessions. One session at the beginning of the 8 weeks and one towards the end.

Includes psychological assessments to measure self-esteem, eating behaviors, and intuitive eating practices at baseline.

6 Group Sessions

Six 1-hour small group sessions where we learn, discuss and grow together as a group. You are not required to speak, however this will be a safe small group environment where discussion and reflection are a crucial aspect of our group experience and growth.

Practical Tools & Resources

You will leave each group session with practical tools and resources including:

  • Intuitive Eating handouts based in nutrition and psychology

  • Body positivity and well-being journal prompts

  • Nutrition guidelines from a Registered Dietitian

  • Thought strategies, breathing exercises, and coping skills

  • Binge eating resources and strategies

Community Support

One of the best parts of this journey is being together! Weekly group sessions provide a space to share personal successes and struggles throughout the two months. This is a beautiful space for those “wow, me too” moments that help you realize you’re not alone.

This group is for you if…

  • You’re tired of feeling crazy around food

  • You want to learn how to honor your body and mind through gentle nutrition and self-compassion

  • You want to make peace with your body

  • You are OKAY with not focusing on weight loss in this process (this is a weight neutral process, we do not use the scale as a reflection of success or health while doing this work).

  • You’re beyond ready to have “those” foods in the house (chocolate, peanut butter, oreos, chips) that you completely forget about because they no longer have control over you

This group is not yet for you if…

  • Your only goal is weight loss

  • You have an active eating disorder (please message me for clarification on what an “active” eating disorder is).

  • You cannot commit to the full 8 weeks

Your host

  • Taylor Vashro is a Registered Dietitian with two master’s degrees, in Nutrition and in Counseling Psychology.

  • With years of experience working directly with client’s to improve their relationship with food and body image, Taylor combines nutrition and psychology to create a unique and research based approach.

  • Taylor’s coaching philosophy focuses on empowerment with the ultimate goal that each client will gain the education and confidence needed to thrive on their own. Each client develops a thorough understanding of intuitive eating and develops practical skills related to nutrition, self-compassion, and food freedom.

FAQ

Q. How many women will be in the group?

The beta group will have four to six women in the group. Anyone else who is interested will be placed on a waitlist and given priority for the next group.

Q. Is this a weight loss program?

It’s not! Focusing on weight loss is usually what gets women into this cycle in the first place. During the program we’re shifting our mindset to focus on your overall health and trusting that your body will lose or gain weight as needed when you’re truly respecting and nourishing it. However, if you are interested in discovering a sustainable and healthy lifestyle that nourishes your body and soul, BUT you also want to lose weight, I totally understand that and it does NOT mean this program isn’t for you. We would just need to talk through this more over the phone.

Q. What is intuitive eating?

Intuitive eating is an evidenced-based non-diet approach that essentially returns us to eating like a child. Think about it, kids have the amazing ability to know when they’re hungry and stop eating when they’re full. Kids are the ones who will grab a giant sugar cookie bigger than their face, but walk away after three tiny bites because they’re done. Who does that? Children.

Intuitive eating is not a fad, a quick fix, or another restrictive diet. Intuitive eating brings us back to a child-like relationship with food where you learn to honor your hunger, make peace with food, and remove the stress and negative emotions related to food and body image once and for all. See links below for more resources and research studies on IE.

Q. Will I need to have my screen on?

For the sake of building community and supporting one another this is a discussion based group where everyone has space to talk. No one is required to speak, but it would be wonderful to at least see everyone in our group sessions. However, if you have a specific reason why you can’t have your screen on we can definitely discuss this over the phone and figure something out!
