Nutrition Coaching

A Journey to Gentleness

Can you relate with…

  • Stressing about what you’re going to eat (or NOT eat).

  • Thinking '“this time will be different” on your 78th diet, detox, or new years resolution.

  • Feeling the need to over-exercise because you ate something “bad."

  • Fighting food cravings and feeling so guilty when you give into them.

  • Feeling guilty when feeling full…like you shouldn’t have eaten enough food to be full.

  • Wanting to “just be normal” around food like other people who simply stop eating when they’re full and don’t give a second thought to the rest of the food.

If so, I bet you’re really freaking tired of it.

The thing is…you CAN have your cake and eat it too

(without layers of stress, guilt, and shame…just layers of chocolate deliciousness).

Imagine…

  • Enjoying a variety of foods without ANY negative feelings.

  • Having Nutella in your pantry and FORGETTING it’s even there

  • Working out because you LOVE the way exercise makes you feel rather than trying to burn calories or earn your next meal.

  • Being excited to go to your friend’s Superbowl party and enjoying a big scoop of buffalo chicken dip if you feel like it.

  • Having brain space to think about other things besides food!

Introducing…

Why Intuitive eating?

Research shows that most weight loss programs or diets result in early rapid weight loss, a weight plateau, and a gradual regain back to baseline weight or greater (for adults). This weight cycling (the yo-yoing of weight up and down) is associated with increased mortality and harmful effects on health.

Unsustainable diets produce unsustainable results.

Intuitive eating (founded by Evelyn Tribole, MS, RD & Elyse Resch, MS, RD) is a researched-based eating framework designed to help you:

  1. Rediscover your natural ability to self-regulate your intake according to your biological and psychological needs.

  2. Discover a sustainable eating lifestyle which nourishes and honors your mind & body.

Research shows intuitive eating is sustainable and beneficial for both the body and the mind in the long run (unlike diets). Intuitive eating has been found to be associated with:

  • Lower rates of depressive symptoms

  • Improved self-esteem & body satisfaction

  • Decreases in binge eating

  • Decreases in unhealthy weight control behaviors (e.g., fasting, skipping meals)

  • Decreases in extreme weight control behaviors (e.g., taking diet pills, vomiting)

Intuitive eating has helped countless women on their own unique Journey to Gentleness - why not you?

FAQ

Q. What’s the difference between a Registered Dietitian and a Nutritionist?

GREAT question.

A registered dietitian (RD or RDN) has attained Bachelors (at minimum) covering the required dietetics coursework, completed a year-long dietetic internship with clinical rotations (essentially our residency), sat & passed a national registration exam, and maintains continuing education credits to continue practicing.

A nutritionist is a general title with no legal requirements, national/state license, or governing board.

I believe most nutritionist are well-intentioned people who usually entered into the nutrition field later in life (making it hard to go back and become a RD). However, I would not advise anyone to seek upper level nutrition advice, coaching, counseling from anyone other than a registered dietitian (including most medical professionals, insta influencers, etc.) because they were most likely not educated/trained in nutrition for 5+ years and have no requirement to stay up-to-date with current evidenced based nutrition research/practice (of course, there are some exceptions with medical professionals/ researchers who are experts in the field of nutrition, I mean no offense to these people).

Q. Is this a weight loss program?

It’s not! Focusing on weight loss is usually what gets women into this cycle in the first place. During the program we’re shifting our mindset to focus on your overall health and trusting that your body will lose or gain weight as needed when you’re truly respecting and nourishing it. However, if you are interested in discovering a sustainable and healthy lifestyle that nourishes your body and soul, BUT you also want to lose weight, I totally understand that and it does NOT mean this program isn’t for you. We would just need to talk through this more over the phone.

Q. I’m not currently struggling with my weight, but still struggle with a lot of the things you mentioned. Is this for me?

Totally! If any of this resonates with you definitely sign up for a free call with me and we can talk through what you are struggling with and if this program would help you or not.

Q. What is intuitive eating?

Intuitive eating is an evidenced-based non-diet approach that essentially returns us to eating like a child. Think about it, kids have the amazing ability to know when they’re hungry and stop eating when they’re full. Kids are the ones who will grab a giant sugar cookie bigger than their face, but walk away after three tiny bites because they’re done. Who does that? Children.

Intuitive eating is not a fad, a quick fix, or another restrictive diet. Intuitive eating brings us back to a child-like relationship with food where you learn to honor your hunger, make peace with food, and remove the stress and negative emotions related to food and body image once and for all. See links below for more resources and research studies on IE.

Q. Do you accept insurance?

Not at this time, but I’m happy to talk about a payment plan to help with accessibility to the programs

Have other questions for me? I’m happy to answer those during a consultation call!

Ready for a change?

If you’ve found yourself in an endless cycle of dieting and being burdened by food,

today’s the day that changes everything.

If not now, when? Life is too precious to let another year (or more) pass without taking action.
